I love this little Hotel. It was a bit off the beaten path and was recommended to my some friends who live in Portugal. It was clean, very friendly and had an accommodating staff. Good food and they make an amazing red sangria!

An outstanding hotel in every respect. So very well located for all public travel, nice quiet location away from the tourist areas, fantastic shopping within 3 minutes walk away. The whole team must be congratulated on great service, helpfulness, professionalism, a real credit to the hotel and our thanks go to them for making our break so enjoyable. All the public rooms, restaurants, bars (particularly the sports bar) nicely appointed and welcoming. Bedrooms are particularly good, beds extremely comfortable, very good pillows, linen and great selection of toiletries in modern spacious bathrooms. Special mention must be made about the service, selection, variety and quality of the breakfast. The only small negative is the toasting machine which is slow (only one side at a time) and insufficient for the number of guests wishing toast. (Management please invest in two better toasters) This hotel provides splendour, comfortability, excellent service levels and is a hotel not to be missed.

We stayed at this hotel for a 3 night city break. I have to agree with other reviews that it is not 5 star, but it is decent enough, in a convenient location, and overall we enjoyed our visit. Our room was a good size, clean, comfortable and recently decorated, although the bathroom was a little dated. The buffet breakfast was good with a decent choice of hot and cold food, all of which was fresh and well presented. The staff on reception were friendly and went out of their way to give us information on local transport for sightseeing around the city which we appreciated. Unfortunately however, this hotel does not have a separate lounge / bar for hotel guests, and this is where I have a major issue with their policy and attitude. The only place to sit and have a drink is in their sports bar which is also open to the public. We arrived at the hotel on Saturday and went down to the bar late afternoon. The minute we walked through the door we were informed that we could sit down for the time being, but from 8.00pm every single table was reserved by local football fans to watch the Sporting v Benfica match. Another family wanted to sit at a table but were told not to turn chairs around as they had all been set up to face the TV’s ready for the match. When I asked at reception where hotel guests could get a drink during the evening the best they could offer was to try and get one at the bar and either sit in the seating area in reception or sit outside! All I kept being told was “It’s a very important match”. I don’t care how important the match was, the hotel should prioritise the comfort of its own guests before the interests of local football fans. Furthermore I would suggest that a lot of guests staying in what is supposed to be a high end hotel would want to be able to sit and have a drink without being surrounded by TV screens continually pumping out sport from opening until closing.! This hotel does not deserve some of the awful reviews that have been posted - in most respects it is fine, but it does need to decide who it is catering for.

This hotel was alright, good location and easy access to the town. First of all when we walked in everything was nice and then we walked up to our room all excited and then we saw the room and it was so small and when we looked inside the bed there was ants crawling on the fricken bed and all over the whole room they were in the bed and everywhere and there was water damage. This hotel does not deserve 5 stars.
